im glade they got rid of the trackball thats a plus because those trackballs gathers a lot of dust and cleaning it out is ugh.

Did you guys notice a noise of a loose part inside at the top of the phone? when you slightly hit the back of the phone next to the “bold” word, quite annoying

I was torn between this decision as well, though this was between the Bold 9000 and the 9700. I’d say go for the BOLD 9700, because the trackball gathers dust and is a real b*itch to clean every six months.

@n95jonathan there is actually a phone called blueberry. its like a copycat version of blackberry minus the OS and stuff.. so basically its a regular phone with simple menus like phone and short message service. it came from…… yeap, u guessed it… China..

i recommend you to buy the blackberry gemini, it has the same keyboard of the curve and it has trackpad.

i just got off the phone ordering my 9700. its the one to get. not only the trackpad is better. also better operating system and overall higher quality. GET THE BOLD 9700!

this phone is much better than the my Touch 3g.. seriously, you’re going to get tired of all the apps eventually and touch screen gets annoying after awhile. Sometimes you’re going want buttons to text with.. especially if you’re a major texter.

onyx is its code name that blackberry makes for each phone during development…

Yes it supports msn the devise used during review was a prerelease phone with prerelease OS which did not. The 9700 supports almost all major IM services.

oh wow, none of the release dates you guys say is the official release date… their is not official release date for at&t but t-mobile supposedly said that nov 16th is the official release date for it
